Ramesh Rupareliya, hailing from Gujarat, earns Rs 8 crore in a year with his ghee business. In the year 2005, he established ‘Shri Gir Gau Krishi Jatan Sanstha’ and started selling dairy products like ghee, curd, and milk. Today, Ramesh Bhai exports his dairy products to 123 countries.

Gujarat’s Neha Bhatt runs a tea startup with the name ‘Ampu Tea Neha.’ In July 2021, Neha met with an accident. Her left side of the body was damaged and due to a delay in treatment, she had to undergo amputation, losing one of her legs. She sells almost 300 cups of tea daily and earns somewhere around Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh in a month.  

Jayaram Banan left his home at the age of 13 and moved to Mumbai in search of new beginnings. He worked at a restaurant for 6 years first as a cleaner and then as the manager. Jayaram moved to Delhi in 1974 and started his food outlet with a canteen at a company. First Sagar Ratna restaurant was opened in Defence Colony, Delhi, in the year 1986.  

Indore’s Nikunj Sharma launched his tea business in Gorakhpur. Initially, he found it difficult to open a single outlet in the city but with the kindness of other people, he successfully launched his business. Today, Nikunj operates seven outlets in different cities and provides employment to people with disabilities.

After getting married, Dilkhush Kumar relocated to Delhi to seek employment. He drove rickshaws there but did not like the work and returned to his home. He acquired his driving skills by learning from his father. Dilkhush purchased a small car while working in Patna. He launched his cab service from that point onwards. Today, the company works with 250 cab drivers from across Bihar.

The daughter-in-law, Nidhi Dua experienced hair fall issues during the lockdown. Her mother-in-law, Rajini Dua was facing the same issue. One day, Nidhi found her grandmother’s recipe for hair loss and used it to create a homemade hair oil for herself. Together with her mother-in-law, Nidhi commenced making hair oil products and currently receives approximately 200 to 300 orders each month. 

VSS Mani lacked both financial resources and prior business expertise. However, his determination and passion were his greatest assets. After experiencing two consecutive business failures, VSS Mani took up an office job. While working at a company that dealt with yellow pages and phone directories, VSS Mani got the idea for Just Dial. The valuation of Just Dial in 2007 was Rs 4,000 crore and it grew to Rs 6,000 crore in 2013.

Kuldeep Singh Rathi, the Managing Director and Chairman of ASK Automotive Limited, appeared for UPSC exams to fulfil his father’s wish. After working as a deputy SP for a few years, he quit his job and worked as a contractor in CPWD. In 1988, he established his own company and today, he makes profits in crores.

Kunwer Sachdev, the founder of Su-Kam company, began his journey with hardships but he never gave up. He sold pens door to door and in buses to support his education expenses. Kunwer Sachdev made the decision to leave his job and established Su-Kam Communication System. The company is valued at Rs 2300 crore.

Falguni Nair, the founder of Nykaa, has not only created a successful beauty brand but also earned a place on the list of the world’s wealthiest women. Bhavish Aggarwal, an alumnus of IIT Bombay, is the CEO of Ola Cabs. His journey serves as an inspiration to the youth.

Ved Ram Nagar, a resident of Baghpat, started selling milk in the year 1960. Gradually, the good quality of milk attracted more customers and Ved Ram Nagar decided to expand the business. Presently, the daily sales of the company are around 36 lakh litres of milk. This milk production business is counted among the top ten milk companies of the country.

Ghazal Alagh, the Co-Founder of Mamaearth, established a company with a desire to make chemical-free products available in the market. She co-founded the company with her husband in the year 2016, with an initial investment of Rs 25 lakh. The company began with just 5 products and has since expanded to over 500 products.

NR Narayana Murthy is the co-founder of Infosys. In ‘The Record,’ a podcast by 3one4 Capital, Narayana Murthy shared his insights on various subjects during a conversation with the former CFO of Infosys, Mohandas Pai. As stated by him, India’s work productivity ranks as the poorest globally. He encourages youth to express their willingness to work for 70 hours a week.
