Indian Woman  

Forbes recently released the list of the world’s most powerful women for 2023. The list features four accomplished Indian women. Nirmala Sitharaman is India’s Finance Minister. She secured the 32^nd rank in the Forbes list. Previously, she was ranked 36^th in the same list.

Dr Akshata Krishnamurthy is a part of the NASA mission that is working to obtain samples from Mars. She holds a PhD degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics. She is not only an accomplished scientist but is also the first Indian woman to operate a rover on Mars.

Devita Saraf embarked on her entrepreneurial journey when tech giants like Google and Apple aimed to bridge the gap between mobile and computer. She launched VU TV, offering a unique blend of TV and computers, that supports various streaming services like Hotstar and YouTube.

In 2018, Devanshi Yadav established an NGO named ‘Ram Ashray Welfare Society’ in honour of her father. The organization strives to help underprivileged children. In 2019, she adopted her first child named Vanmayi, and in 2022, she adopted two girls from Uganda.  

Dr Sabiha from Nashik is a professional doctor. She specializes in sex and relationship coaching. Dr Sabiha got married in 2002 and experienced a significant cultural contrast between her maternal home and her in-laws’ residence. Overcoming all the challenges together with her husband, the two are leading a happy life today.

Radhika Gupta is the CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund (Edelweiss MF). The World Economic Forum has given her the title of Young Global Leader. She is a powerful businesswoman from India who is recognized globally for her extraordinary business intellect.

The daughter-in-law, Nidhi Dua experienced hair fall issues during the lockdown. Her mother-in-law, Rajini Dua was facing the same issue. One day, Nidhi found her grandmother’s recipe for hair loss and used it to create a homemade hair oil for herself. Together with her mother-in-law, Nidhi commenced making hair oil products and currently receives approximately 200 to 300 orders each month. 

Preeti Chandavasia loved making handmade wedding cards. She shared pictures of her handmade envelopes on social media and received a large number of orders. After working for two years on her business, Preeti ventured into event management, established her own event management company and named it ‘Srijan Creation.’

Tapsi Upadhyay is pursuing a B Tech degree in computer science from IITM Janakpuri. She is the eldest among her three siblings. In her class 12, she offered tuition classes to earn pocket money. After experiencing food poisoning a couple of times, she made the decision to open her own food stall. Today, she operates approximately 20 stalls across the country.

Karnataka’s Nandini KR studied civil engineering for her higher education and then went on to pursue UPSC exams to become an IAS officer. She faced multiple setbacks in her first few attempts, but she persevered and emerged victorious in her fourth attempt at UPSC 2016 by becoming an All-India topper.

Malvika Iyer lost both her hands in an accident when she was only 13 years old. She was bedridden for almost two years, and despite that she continued her education and emerged as a state topper in class 10. She completed her doctorate degree in Social Work in the year 2017, and today she serves as a motivational speaker and inspires people from all around the world.

Dr Sharvari Inamdar won 5 gold medals in the Asian Classic and Bench Press Powerlifting Championship 2017. 37-year-old Sharvari Inamdar holds an MD degree in Ayurveda. She has been practicing as a nutritionist for 16 years.

Raipur’s Durga Devi has been making lac bangles for the last 20 years. She learned the skills from her in-laws and felt inspired to take up the work seriously. Today, Durga is a self-made independent woman who supports her family financially by making around Rs 70,000 in a month.

Rajasthan’s Tejaswi Chandela was honoured with the title of Young Pastry Chef of the Year at the inaugural event held at Taj Lands, Mumbai. Through years of dedication to her craft, she has acquired excellent expertise and skills. Her social media accounts boast of millions of followers. She travels to various cities of Rajasthan with an aim of bringing local and traditional sweets to the global stage.

Astha Singh is a renowned dietician from Lucknow. She earned a BSc degree from Sultanpur and also holds an MSc degree in Food and Nutrition. In 2016, Astha got her first job at Diabeta Care. It was located 2 kilometres away from her residence and she used to cover that distance on foot. Hundreds of people have sought Astha’s assistance. Through her dietary plans, she has helped many people become physically fit.
