She is a resident of Charmudiya village in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh. She makes a substantial income through farming while providing employment to over 100 people.

Post the completion of her studies, Smrika Chandrakar found a job at an MNC with an annual package of Rs 15 lakh. Despite a lucrative career, she decided to turn to farming.
