At least 61 people were killed and 72 injured on Friday evening after several Dussehra revellers, who had spread onto the railway tracks while watching the burning of a Ravana effigy, were run over by a train.

More than 300 people were standing along the railway track to watch the burning of Ravan's effigy as part of the Dussehra celebrations near the Joda Phatak area of Amritsar.

A collision between bus and tanker killed four people including a girl named Monisha. Four were charred to death and out of 22 injured, two are battling for their lives

Dixit's body was found packed in a suitcase at the Mindspace area in Malad on Monday. According to a report, Syed confessed of having killed Dixit after the latter turned down his demand for sexual favour.
