Chandan Kumar, the son of farmer Arun Kumar Sharma from Koyari Bari Mohalla in Gaya district, has set an inspiring example by securing the 9th rank in Bihar in the 69th Combined Competitive Examination of the BPSC. This achievement is more than just an exam success; it is a powerful story of dedication, perseverance, and the pursuit of dreams. Despite working as a clerk at the Gaya Post Office for the past 12 years, Chandan has excelled in one of the toughest competitive exams in the state.

Chandan Kumar's journey to success

Chandan Kumar works as a clerk at the post office. He faces the challenge of physical disability, with limited use of his right hand and one leg. Despite these significant hurdles, Chandan has proven that with unwavering self-confidence and determination, no obstacle is too great to overcome on the path to success. His journey is a testament to the power of willpower and resilience.

Perseverance and hard work

Chandan explains that after returning home from the post office, he would rest for a short while before immersing himself in his studies. He dedicated 5-6 hours each day to his preparations. Balancing work and studies was challenging, but he never gave up. He believes that with a strong foundation, no difficulty is insurmountable.

Family support

Chandan's success is rooted in the unwavering support of his family. His father, Arun Kumar Sharma, a farmer, always emphasised the importance of education. His father shares that education was their greatest asset. Despite financial challenges, they never hindered Chandan's studies and always encouraged him to succeed through strong values and education. Chandan’s elder brother, Rakesh Kumar, a teacher, has also been instrumental in his achievements. 

Achieving dreams

Chandan has always had a strong desire to join the administrative service since childhood, with the aim of helping people and bringing positive changes to their lives. To realise this goal, he appeared for the BPSC exam, and today, he is reaping the rewards of his hard work. Chandan's success is a powerful testament to the fact that with willpower and dedication, success can be achieved regardless of the challenges. His journey teaches us that with a clear purpose in life and relentless hard work, success is within reach for anyone.
