Droupadi Murmu  

On December 26, 2024, President Droupadi Murmu conferred the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on 17 extraordinary children at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi. The awards recognized their exceptional achievements across diverse fields, including bravery, innovation, sports, art, and culture. This year’s ceremony coincided with Veer Bal Diwas, commemorating the sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh’s sons, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh.  
 

Sitharaman arrived at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in a white silk saree with a purple border. She was there to meet President Murmu before heading to Parliament to announce the Budget at 11 AM. 

President Droupadi Murmu of India joined Saina Nehwal for a friendly badminton match, highlighting India's female badminton success and promoting sports inclusivity.
 

On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious honour Kirti Chakra to 10 brave soldiers. 26 Shaurya Chakras were also conferred during the ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The results of Swachh Survekshan 2023 were announced on 11 January 2024 by the President Droupadi Murmu. Once again, Indore remained on the first spot as the cleanest city in the country.

Droupadi Murmu is an Indian politician. In the year 2022, she became the first woman from ST category to be elected as the President of India in the presidential elections. She took her oath as the President on 25 July 2022.
