The Parliament’s budget session commenced on Wednesday. Prior to this, President Droupadi Murmu addressed both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
President Murmu described the last year as one filled with achievements for the nation. She discussed about the women’s reservation law and Asian Games achievements.
President Murmu stated that the government successfully upheld the commitment to reform, perform, and transform.
This was President Murmu’s first address to both the houses. She also mentioned about the Ram Mandir during her speech.
President Murmu discussed about abolishing laws enacted during the time of independence. She emphasized the importance of eradicating practices like triple talaq.
President Murmu congratulated Modi government on the success of Digital India initiative. Presently, India accounts for 46 percent of global digital transactions.
President Murmu mentioned that the Modi government has provided significant support to farmers, with the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, amounting to Rs 2,80,000 crore.
The Modi government also prioritized the development of the marginalized tribal communities. Schemes like PM Janman Yojana provides financial assistance of Rs 24,000.
A significant emphasis remains on green energy initiatives. Over the last decade, the capacity of non-fossil fuel-based energy has surged from 81 GW to 188 GW.
The Modi government has launched initiatives to uplift 25 crore people out of poverty. President Murmu commended the government’s commitment to the welfare of the people.
