Ramanagara District  

The Karnataka government has announced plans to rename a district to “Bengaluru South,” reflecting local sentiment. The decision, driven by regional leaders, is set to be implemented soon despite some opposition.
 

While Congress MLA DK Shivakumar handed over 10 acres of land for the construction of Jesus Christ’s statue in Kanakapura of Ramanagara district, Karnataka and even laid the foundation stone for it, the pertinent question is: Was this statue needed in the first place?
