Counting for Purulia Lok Sabha Constituency has started at Purulia Polytechnic college amid tight security.

The election holds a lot of significate for this terror hit constituency. Even the future of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti is at stake during this election. The Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, one of Jammu and Kashmir’s six Lok Sabha constituencies, has remained vacant for almost three years now.
 

Polling for 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka was held on April 18 and April 23. Of these, results of seven key constituencies including Mandya, Bengaluru South and Tumakuru are eagerly awaited 

As per early trends, BJP sweeping the polls in Delhi is only going to increase worry for Congress as it is trailing on the third spot and the the Aam Aadmi Party is ahead of it. 

What brought discomfort in TMC camp was news of Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee trailing. Though later he recovered. He fought it from the Diamond Harbour seat,w which is a prestige battle for the ruling Trinamool Congress

The fight in Bhatinda is between Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Congress' Amarinder Singh Raka, AAP's Baljinder Kaur and Punjab Ekta Party (PEP) chief Sukhpal Singh Khaira.

Kendrapara is extremely significant for the Biju Janata Dal because Odisha Chief Naveen Patnaik's father Biju Patnaik, the man after whom the BJD party was named, was elected thrice from that seat. 

It is a rural constituency with a literacy rate of 83.43%. In 2014, there were 1404581 voters of which 742939 were male and 661592 were female and 50 voters of the third gender
