Anand Singh, the Congress MLA from Vijayanagara has tendered his resignation because he felt that Jindal company had received preferential treatment by the Karnataka government. The MLA met Governor Vajubhai Vala and gave a copy of his resignation.

BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya, who was arrested four days ago for allegedly assaulting a civic official with a cricket bat was released on bail and welcomed with garlands and sweets by his supporters.
