Asian Games star Hima Das set to receive unique welcome at Guwahati airport

Guwahati: Asian Games 2018 star athlete Hima Das will be accorded a unique welcome here on Friday.

At the airport, she will be welcomed by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

She will then head to Sarusujai Stadium and on the way she will stop over at the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra Memorial after which she will be honoured by the State at the Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra in the evening, local media said.

Hima, who won one gold (women’s 4x400m relay) and two silver (400m and mixed 4x100m relay) at the Asian Games in Indonesia, returned to India on Tuesday.

She and other medal winning athletes met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and also Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore.
