Earlier on Monday (July 15), Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and took stock of the situation in the state.

Assam chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal took to Twitter to condemn the blast and directed “DGP to immediately apprehend the culprits and ensure the security of common people.”

Sonowal said that Mamata Didi has no right to rule the state and the President of India should immediately dismiss the government. He also appealed to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take all possible measures to ensure that there is a peaceful election in West Bengal.
