While the nation has witnessed several protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act that claimed it would impact the Assamese, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal urged the people to have faith in him claiming that the Act would not affect the citizens of the state

Earlier on Monday (July 15), Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and took stock of the situation in the state.

According to the ASDMA, Barpeta is the worst-hit district with 7.35 lakh people facing the flood fury in Assam, followed by Morigaon where 3.50 lakh people are affected by the floods

Assam chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal took to Twitter to condemn the blast and directed “DGP to immediately apprehend the culprits and ensure the security of common people.”
