Indulging in Shahi Tukda during the winter season is always a delight. It’s a tempting and sweet treat for the festive season.
Shahi Tukda is a specialty of Hyderabad. It is not time consuming and can be easily prepared at home.
6-7 cups of milk
2 cups of sugar
Two bread slices
50 gram of mawa
Half litre ghee
Cashews, pistachios
A pinch of saffron
Heat milk in a pan. Add sugar to it and let it come to a boil. Add mawa into the mixture, followed by saffron. Let it boil on low heat, then turn off the heat.
In another pan, heat ghee. Cut the bread slices diagonally and toast them in the pan.
Put the toasts in a bowl and pour the milk mixture over it. Once the bread is fully soaked, transfer them to a plate and garnish with cashews and pistachios.
Refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes. Finally, garnish it with saffron and your Shahi Tukda is ready to be served.
