Moisturise before celebrating

Make sure you heavily moisturise your whole body, especially dry areas like elbows, knees, and toes. It protects the skin and creates a layer between skin and colour.

Oil your hair

Don’t forget to oil your hair thoroughly to protect your scalp and hair from colours and harsh chemicals. It also protects your hair from sun damage and makes it easy to wash.

Wear full sleeves

Cover as much skin as you can. Wear full sleeves and cover your hair with a cap, scarf or a dupatta.

Wear sunscreen

Holi means playing in the sun all day. Make sure you wear sunscreen and protect your skin from sun exposure and damage.

Rise off immediately after Holi

As soon as the celebration is over, rinse off the colour using lukewarm water. Long exposure of colour to the skin can cause harm to the skin and hair.

Use a mild soap

Do not use harsh soaps and cleansers as they will irritate the skin more. Also, avoid rough scrubbing or scratching your skin to clean.

Re-moisturise your skin to repair

After cleaning your skin and hair, moisturise all over the body. Look for moisturisers with ingredients like aloe, glycerine, and shea butter. It helps soothe skin and heal.
