Sexual Harassment Case  

The Delhi high court has vacated its earlier order on restraining publication of allegations of sexual harassment made against Mahesh Murthy, venture capitalist and an investor in Newslaundry. A single-judge bench presided by Justice Jayanth passed the order

Vikas Bahl has been cleared of all sexual harassment charges, and the filmmaker has been reinstated as the director of Super 30.

Chief Executive Officer of Asianet News, Abhinav Khare found himself in soup after an employee, Sonam Mahajan accused him of sexual harassment. Through the course of investigations, police say that the complainant's claims lack 'substance'.

The committee probing the case submitted its report on May 5, 2019. It has also made clear that the content of the report is not expected to be made public. 

 

The four accused in the sexual harassment case were booked under various sections of the IPC, Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act and the Goondas Act.

The observation was directed at people, who a lawyer claimed, were also involved in influencing the decision to refer a case to a particular judge, or as the court put it, “bench fixing”.

With an increase in the number of sexual harassment cases reported against children, the Madras high court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to set up a toll-free number for students to register their complaints. The same must be displayed in school boards, it said

Protestes have taken place across Tamil Nadu in the Pollachi sexual assault case. Lawyers in Ramanathapuram have taken to streets, boycotting courts demanding speedy trail and conviction of all accused.

The accused is identified as Praveen (22), a son of a traffic sub-inspector who sexually harassed a minor girl in his locality.

PK Sasi is no longer a member of the CPI(M) as his membership has been cancelled. Sasi was suspended on the basis of the report submitted by the party leaders PK Sreemathy and AK Balan, who were appointed to investigate the sexual harassment case against him.
 

A second year student of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, in Kattangulathur, Chennai was sexually harassed by the hostel cleaning staff.  A complaint was filed at the hostel reception, where the official asked her to keep mum about the situation

Ammunition was found at the house of Bihar's former social welfare minister Manju Verma, accused in the  Muzaffarpur shelter home sexual assault case. The police are saying she is missing since one month and Supreme Court has expressed shock over the same.

 

Karnataka high court issued an interim order and asked the police not to take any coercive action like arresting actor Arjun Sarja, who is fighting the #MeToo complaint against him. The lawyer said that in the next hearing they will try to convince the court on how #MeToo movement was misused in this case, filed by Kannada actress Sruthi Hariharan.

Parvathy says Bollywood also needs to have a body like WCC to address and monitor the cases of sexual harassment.
