Protesters attacked media in Sabarimala on Tuesday morning over reports of a woman of menstruating age suspected to be entering the temple.

Asha Lawrence, daughter of veteran CPI(M) leader MM Lawrence, was removed from the government job after her son Milan Lawrence Emmanuel took part in the one-day fast led by BJP workers fighting the Sabarimala verdict in front of the DGP's office in Thiruvananthapuram.

Kalyan Karnataka Horata Samiti workers protested demanding a separate state for Hyderabad-Karnataka. They were detained while attempting to hoist a new flag in Karnataka's Kalaburagi.

The decision immediately led to protests from hardliners and demonstrations erupted against the apex court in places such as Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi.

'Tipu was anti-Hindu and the government should not celebrate Tipu Jayanti by using taxpayers' money,' said activist Patapat Srinivas.

CPI(M) leader MM Lawrence said his grandson's participation in the BJP programme was wrong. He said Milan’s participation in the Sabarimala protest took place without his knowledge.
