The ministry of external affairs on Wednesday India had lost a MiG-21 Bison fighter aircraft during an air-to-air engagement with Pakistan Air Force jets following the non-military, pre-emptive air strikes in Balakot. It also said that the pilot was “missing in action”.  

It can be called as co-incidence, but it is the truth that Abhinandan’s father was a consultant to a Tamil film that was centred around an IAF pilot, who is arrested by Pakistan. Air Marshal S Varthaman was hired as a consultant for the Tamil film Kaatru Veliyidai.
