15 people have lost their lives, including six suspected terrorists and nine civilians in a shootout between Sri Lankan police and suspected terrorists in Kalmunai.

According to a senior security official, massive flush-out drives were carried on the ground to eliminate the militants involved in the Pulwama attack. Among the terrorists who were neutralised, 27 belonged to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) – the terror organisation backed by Pakistan.
