Majority  

Courts have no justification for regulating Hindu religious practices, particularly when they are not doing the same for other religions. Such court interference in a majority religion is unprecedented in the world and legally questionable.

Though some Congress leaders are eager to support the Trinamool Congress (TMC), a majority of leaders are opposed to the idea. They are against TMC trying to suppress Congress in West Bengal.

The 193-member UN General Assembly held elections for new members to the UN Human Rights Council. The 18 new members were elected by the absolute majority through a secret ballot.

'Today all our MLAs, MLCs, district president and core committee have decided that this time for Shivamogga's Lok Sabha constituency, our BY Raghavendra will be the candidate,' said  Karnataka BJP leader KS Eshwarappa.

Addressing the two-day national executive meeting, BJP president Amit Shah said that mahagathbandhan is just an illusion and called it a myth.

 

Despite the lead taken by Congress, the BJP felt its victory was satisfactory as it won with majority in seven districts including the coastal districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada.
