After Mayawati, BSP leader cuts ties with Congress in Karnataka. Many challenges confront Congress prior to Lok Sabha polls.

BJP is not in power in any of the southern states of India currently. Reports from local media stated that to ensure BJP gains leadership, PM Modi will be contesting Lok Sabha elections from Karnataka.

'Today all our MLAs, MLCs, district president and core committee have decided that this time for Shivamogga's Lok Sabha constituency, our BY Raghavendra will be the candidate,' said  Karnataka BJP leader KS Eshwarappa.

Rajnath also accused the Congress of trying to gain political mileage over the issue with an eye on the Lok Sabha elections next year.

It is said that Bhavani Revanna, wife of Karnataka's PWD minister HD Revanna, is making efforts to bring in BJP MLA MP Kumaraswamy, a two-time MLA from Mudigere into the JD(S) fold. Kumaraswamy won from reserved assembly seat by defeating Congress heavyweight and former minister C Motamma.

Addressing the two-day national executive meeting, BJP president Amit Shah said that mahagathbandhan is just an illusion and called it a myth.

 

 Yaduveer's increasing presence and frequent visits to Mandya are said to be a sign that he is trying to build a rapport with the public there
