Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and said that the nation salutes the indomitable courage of the armed forces and their families. He also urged the citizens to contribute towards the welfare of the forces.

Lt Col Rangaraj was the Indian Army’s first Para Commando. He was also the recipient of the Maha Vir Chakra.
 

Speaking on 55th Raising Day of BSF, MoS Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai said that the government has increased the retirement age of ‘jawans’ to 60 years and is committed to providing modern technology to them.
