The Indian Air Force has forwarded a bill of Rs 102.6 crore to the Kerala government for carrying out rescue operations during the catastrophic floods

A Mirage 2000 trainer fighter aircraft crashed near HAL airport in Bengaluru, resulting in the death of both the pilots. The flight developed a technical snag and hit the wall near the LCA gate.

Prime Minister had a short stop over at Bidar IAF airport, where he met JD(S) minister Bandeppa Kashempur before flying to Solapur to inaugurate development projects.

Indian Air Force's Kiran trainer jet crashed in Telangana. While the pilot fractured his leg, the aircraft is completely damaged.

'The questions asked to the IAF officials were very basic in nature. They were asked about fifth generation fighter planes and how they were more capable than what the Air Force currently operates. They were also asked about the generation of the Su-30MKI planes and the Rafale planes,' senior IAF officials said

'In our findings, a linkage between commission paid and compromises made on the quality of engines, which has affected the quality of (Hawk) aircraft, has been clearly brought out,' the CGDA audit report said

According to sources in the armed forces, the cost of each BrahMos missile is more than Rs 30 crore, which is considered to be very high, and is preventing the forces from ordering for more of those missiles

The projects that missed the deadline included the production of Sukhoi-30 planes which has been delayed by three years, production of Jaguar Darin IIi planes which has been delayed by six years, upgrade of the Mirage 2000 which has been delayed by two years. The Tejas light combat aircraft (LCA) project has also been delayed by five years.
