Days after 10 Congress MLAs in Goa joined the BJP, the state of Goa will get its deputy chief minister, who was once the leader of the opposition

Of the 10 MLAs who quit the Congress to join the BJP, three will be inducted into the Goa Cabinet. Three ministers from Goa Forward Party and an independent candidate will be dropped from the Cabinet.
 

While the JD(S)-Congress coalition government in Karnataka is teetering after resignations of several MLAs, two- thirds of Congress MLAs have joined the BJP in Goa. In Madhya Pradesh, the Nath-led Congress government is holding onto a wafer-thin majority.

Pramod Sawant arrived in the national capital with the 10 MLAs and has been meeting senior BJP leaders, including its working president J P Nadda.
