Post-tsunami, then prime minister Manmohan Singh from the UPA government had agreed upon a foreign policy, by which it was decided not to accept any funds from foreign governments, during calamities in India.

Kerala flood relief: 60 trucks were sent to the State from Art of Living centres across India. Each truck carried 500 tons of everyday essentials costing more than Rs 9.35 crore.
