The government’s ban on DJ and Dolby sound has generated resentment among some Ganesha mandals (groups which celebrate the festival in public), but the Bombay High Court upheld it earlier this week.
 

The education minister also said that even though celebrations will be avoided, students will get every opportunity to show their creativity.

Once the ‘Azaan’ was over, the Ganesha procession resumed back with music, band, chants and bhajans. This noble gesture by Hindu youths is now being discussed and lauded among local Muslims too in Haveri, Karnataka.

State youth festival will be conducted without celebration now in Kerala. Officials and ministers have now convinced Pinarayi Vijayan to re-consider the decision of banning the festival claiming that students will lose an opportunity to gain grace marks. Absence of Pinarayi Vijayan and the ministers' moves have now come under scrutiny.

Kerala government has decided to do away with all festivities for one year in the wake of the flood that ravaged the State. State youth festival, IFFK (International Film Festival of Kerala), and several other cultural programmes related to tourism have been cancelled
