Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday announced that Amitabh Bachchan has been selected for Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

The Dadasaheb Phalke awardee, Soumitra Chatterjee was admitted to a private hospital on August 14 with respiratory tract infection along with age-related health issues and was discharged on August 21.
