This is the fourth meeting between the two leaders in the recent past, which indicates a constant improvement in the bilateral ties between the countries

Both the countries are scheduled to announce the deal during the New Delhi visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin starting today

During the meeting, both the leaders comprehensively reviewed the bilateral energy cooperation and agreed to complete pipeline work from Motihari in India (Bihar) to Amlekhgunj in Nepal at the earliest.

The negotiations for the pact, officially dubbed as the Bilateral Trade and Investment Agreement (BTIA), have been held up since May 2013 and have witnessed many hurdles.  

American policy makers have had enough of Pakistani treachery following their cosy bilateral relations during the Cold War years as the Islamic country refuses to emerge from its time warped mindset

India cancelled series with Pakistan in 2014 and 2015, claiming political tensions. Pakistan was scheduled to stage both series, and claimed losses of nearly $70 million.
