Justice Vijay Bishnoi granted relief to Sanchita Gupta alias Shilpi, who was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by a trial court, on a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and two surety bonds each of Rs 1 lakh.

The arrest of the high profile religious leader came 87 days after a nun filed a complaint of rape and sexual harassment in Kerala. 

It has been hinted that the police will request the court to take him in custody for three days. The bishop will submit a bail-plea in court.

Kerala police have decided to arrest the bishop if his answer is not satisfying them.
