The teaser from Amala Paul’s upcoming movie Aadai was released yesterday on YouTube. Since then, the video has been creating a buzz with positive responses from viewers, critics and celebs.

The teaser starts with a quote of philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, ‘Freedom is what you do with what is done to you’, which hints at a survival story of a girl, who fights back to reclaim the freedom snatched away from her.

Aadai is a thriller drama, directed by Rathna Kumar and produced by Viji Subramaniyan under the banner V Studios.

In the teaser, we see a distressed mother filing a complaint stating that the daughter is missing. The inspector asks her if she has spoken to her daughter's friends. Her mother hesitantly replies stating that her daughter was drunk the last time she spoke to her. Police begin investigating the case to find the daughter, played by Amala Paul, nude, in what is supposedly a corporate office. Amala Paul is shocked when she wakes up to find herself without and clothes on.

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar released the teaser of Aadai and tweeted, "'Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you.' Amala also shared the video on her Twitter account saying, "With your support and unconditional love, I embark upon yet another journey. Keep me in your prayers and wish your girl all the very best as #Aadai is all set to hit the screens v v soon. Onward and upward we go #AADAIteaser @MrRathna @vstudiosoffl"

Actress Samantha Akkineni also praised Amala, saying, “Looks amazing @Amala_ams ... all the best to you ..curiosity levels high .. looking forward”

Actress Athulya Ravi also tweeted saying, “Congrats to my producer for choosing unique and bold script like #Aadai @Amala_ams Here is the teaser of #AadaiTeaser”

Aadai has been issued an 'A' certificate by the Censor Board. The film, also features Vivek Prasanna in a supporting role.
