The whole nation is coming forward in support of Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat amid her disqualification from the Paris Olympics final due to being overweight. Bollywood celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Sonakshi Sinha, and Farhan Akhtar have also made posts on their social media to show support for Vinesh Phogat.

Vinesh Phogat who was set to compete for the gold medal in the 50 kg female wrestling category after defeating Japanese wrestler Yui Susaki is now disqualified from the Paris Olympics finals due to being overweight. She was 2 kg overweight on Tuesday night. She worked hard to lose the weight but was still 100 gm overweight which led to her disqualification.

Several Indian celebrities have come forward in support of Vinesh Phogat amid the disqualification. Alia Bhatt posted an Instagram story and wrote, “Vinesh Phogat you are an inspiration to the entire nation. Nothing can take away your resilience, nothing can take away your courage and nothing can take away the hardships you've been through to create history! Today you must be heartbroken to say the least and we are heartbroken with you. But woman you are gold- you are iron and you are steel! Nothing can take that away from you! A champion for the ages! There is no one like you."
