Divya Khosla Kumar is an Indian actress, film producer and film director. She was born on 27 November 1981 in Delhi. Her zodiac sign is Sagittarius. She comes from a Punjabi family. She holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Janki Devi Memorial College, Delhi. She also has a degree in cinematography from Mumbai’s acting school. 

Her hobbies include dancing, writing, and reading.

Divya was introverted during her school and college days.

Divya and her family lived in a rented house in Delhi when she was in class 10. 

Her mother did not allow her to watch films in her childhood. In an interview, she revealed that she hardly watched any films growing up. She was very studious and lived in a conservative family.  

At the age of 18, Divya met Bhushan Kumar during a print advertisement.

The first film she saw in the theatre was ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ which came out in the year 1994.

Divya Khosla Kumar came to Mumbai at the age of 20.

After moving to Mumbai, Divya used to travel by local trains. She lived in a PG with her friends and used to change about seven PGs in a year.

Divya's first music video

Divya Khosla Kumar was first seen in a music video titled ‘Honey Honey’ with the actor Salman Khan.

Then she got many opportunities. She was featured in Falguni Pathak's music video ‘Aiyo Rama’ (2000), Abhijeet Bhattacharya's music video ‘Kabhi Yaadon Mein Aun’ (2003) and Roop Johri and Kunal Ganjawala's video song ‘Zid Na Karo Yeh Dil Ka Mamla Hai’ (2003). 

In the year 2004, she was offered a role in the Bollywood blockbuster film ‘Ab Tumhare Hawala Watan Saathiyo’ alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Bobby Deol and Akshay Kumar. After this project, she received many offers. 

Divya's meeting with Bhushan Kumar

Divya came in contact with Bhushan Kumar during the shooting of the film ‘Ab Tumhare Hawala Watan Saathiyo’. Bhushan was quite impressed after meeting with Divya and asked for her phone number. Soon, a bond grew between them, but Divya broke up after some time after learning about Bhushan's image in the industry. However, Bhushan was quite serious about Divya and sent his cousin Ajay Kapoor to Delhi to talk to Divya. The disagreements were resolved, and Divya married Bhushan Kumar on 13 February 2005.

After marrying Bhushan, Divya took a long break from her acting career.

In the year 2014, she decided to make her directorial debut with the Bollywood film ‘Yaariyan’. The movie was a hit in the young audience. 

Divya also choreographed five songs in the film, 'Baarish,’ ‘Maa,’ ‘Love Me Thoda Aur,’ ‘Allah-Variyan,’ and ‘Jor Lagake’.

Then she was seen in the music videos ‘Akkad Bakkad’ and ‘Humne Pee Rakhi Hain’ in the 2017 film ‘Sanam Re’. Divya was also the director of this film.

During the same time, she played the lead role in the short film ‘Bulbul’.

Working as a producer

Divya has worked as a producer in films like Khandaani Shafakhana (2019), Batla House (2019), Marjaavaan (2019), Street Dancer 3D (2020), and Indu Ki Jawani (2020). 

In the year 2019, Divya was featured in the song ‘Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi’ by Neha Kakkar. After this she was also featured in B Praak's song ‘Besharam Bewafa’ in 2020.

In 2020, Divya faced a wardrobe malfunction when she was walking the ramp for Lakme Fashion Week. However, she managed the situation gracefully. 

Divya played the role of 'Sita Rameshwar' in the Bollywood film ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’. The film came out in 2021.

Divya has been featured on the cover of magazines like ‘AsiaSpa’.

According to Divya, the source of her inspiration is her mother and her mother-in-law.

Divya Khosla Kumar is a great devotee of Lord Ganesha.
