Raghubar Das is an Indian politician. He was born on 3 May 1955 in Jamshedpur. His zodiac sign is Taurus. He completed his schooling from Harijan School, Jamshedpur. He earned two graduate degrees in Science and Law from Jamshedpur Cooperative College. 

His father’s name is Chavan Ram, and his mother’s name is Sonbatti Das. 

He is married to Rukmini Devi. They are parents to two children, Renu Kumari and Lalit Kumar.

Raghuvar Das is a senior politician associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. 

After completing his graduation, he worked at Tata Steel company. 

Raghubar Das was imprisoned during the time of Emergency. Before entering politics, he had joined Jayaprakash Narayan's ‘Total Revolution’ movement.

In the year 1977, Raghubar Das joined the Janata Party. He joined the BJP as a founding member in the year 1980.

Raghubar Das served as the Chief Secretary, Vice President, and National Secretary of Jamshedpur BJP. 

In the year 1995, he was elected as MLA from Jamshedpur East seat.

He was appointed as the Labor and Employment Minister of Jharkhand in 2000. 

In the year 2005, he served as the Minister of Urban Development and Minister of Commercial Taxes in the Arjun Munda government.

Under his chairmanship, BJP won 30 seats in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly elections 2005.

From 30 December 2009 to 29 May 2010, he served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Jharkhand.

Raghubar Das as Jharkhand’s CM

On 16 August 2014, he was appointed as the Vice President of BJP National Committee.

Raghubar Das was sworn in as the sixth Chief Minister of Jharkhand on 28 December 2014. 

He resigned from the post of Chief Minister on 23 December 2019 after BJP lost majority in Jharkhand.

Presently, Raghubar Das is serving as the 26th Governor of Odisha.
