You might be dating your ex even after a breakup

While breakups hurt and the broken heart tends to look for love in a different person, we might think we’re done dating people like our ex, but that is not the case. People often look for love in the same type of person over and over again. 

It's common that when a relationship ends, people attribute their breakup to their former partner's personality and decide they need to date a different type of person.  Research suggests there's a strong tendency to nevertheless continue to date a similar personality.
