By-elections were held for five constituencies in Karnataka - Lok Sabha by-election for Ballari, Shivamogga and Mandya whereas Assembly by-election for Jamakhandi and Ramanagara.
The counting for Karnataka by-election is on. As per latest reports, Congress and JD(S) alliance is leading in all constituencies, except for Shivamogga, where BJP's BY Raghavendra is maintaining the lead.
By-elections were held in five constituencies - Lok Sabha by-election for Ballari, Shivamogga and Mandya whereas Assembly by-election for Jamakhandi and Ramanagara.
Shivamogga:
BJP's BY Raghavendra has secured more than 4,18,480 votes and JD(S)'s Madhu Bangarappa has gained around 3,74,842 votes.
Ballari
In a surprise result, in Ballari, BJP MLA Sriramulu's sister J Shantha with 2,70,339 votes is set to suffer a defeat as against Congress leader Ugrappa's 4,78,000 votes
Mandya
Even in Mandya, JD(S) leader L Shivaramegowda is leading with 5,10,000 votes against Siddaramaiah of BJP, who has scored 2,00,197 votes.
Assembly elections - Ramanagara
After the counting of ninth round, chief minister HD Kumaraswamy's wife Anitha Kumaraswamy is all set to win the election as she has secured 85,000 votes against Chandrashekhar (11,000 votes so far), who quit BJP just two days before the election and joined Congress.
Jamkhandi
Congress leader late Siddu Nyamagouda's son Anand Nyamagoda is leading with 96,968 votes against BJP's Srikanth Kulkarni who has so far secured 57,494 votes.
