While the Karnataka BJP was celebrating its victory in the state after winning 12 Assembly seats, former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis took to Twitter and said that people would not tolerate if someone tries to play with the public mandate

In the first hour of counting, out of 15 constituencies, BJP took the lead in at least 10 constituencies. While an independent candidate took the lead in Hosakote, the Congress and JD(S) were leading in two constituencies each.

Janata Dal Secular, JD(S) continues to express an interest in alliance with the Congress, despite engaging in mudslinging during their term. Deve Gowda hinted he was open for an alliance with the Congress in 17 assembly constituencies.
 

BJP has won 25 seats and except for two seats (one each for Congress and the JDS), the coalition has failed miserably in Karnataka 
 

Chimmadayi village polling saw a groom in wedding attire cast his vote as his bride Swapna looked on. Swapna could not cast her vote as she belongs to a different village.  

By-poll is being conducted in Chincholi and Kundagol constituencies of Karnataka. People, including a pregnant woman, stood in long queues in Chincholi to cast their votes. BJP’s candidate from Kundagol visited Doddoppa temple before casting his vote.

Apart from a control unit, ballot unit and VVPAT for each polling station, the Election Commission has also arranged for 43 additional control units, 44 ballot units and 157 VVPATs, to prevent any disruption during election.

By-elections were held for five constituencies in Karnataka - Lok Sabha by-election for Ballari, Shivamogga and Mandya whereas Assembly by-election for Jamakhandi and Ramanagara.

Chandrashekhar also submitted Form 9 and announced that he has annulled Padmanabh's position as his chief election agent. Thus making sure that Padmanabh's signature on any election-related document becomes invalid with immediate effect.
