Rajasthan BJP MLA Gyan Dev Ahuja He said that cow smugglers should be “slapped, tied to a tree” and then they should be handed over to the police.
Terrorists kill "two to five people" but killing a cow, who is like mother, hurts sentiments of thousands of people. So, killing a cow is “more grievous crime” than terrorism, according to Rajasthan's Ramgarh MLA Gyan Dev Ahuja.
He compared cow to mother and said in India, "misbehaving" with mothers is not tolerated. So, "misbehaving" with cows, especially their slaughter will not be tolerated.
“We treat cows like our mother. Cow slaughter should be kept in the category of terrorism and special task force should be made to deal with this issue,” the BJP leader was quoted as saying by “Hindustan Times”.
He said that cow smugglers should be “slapped, tied to a tree” and then they should be handed over to the police.
However, he also clarified that they should not be assaulted badly. Instead they should be slapped twice and then tied to the tree just to make sure that they don't escape before the arrival of the police.
No one should take law into their hands, he also added.
The MLA was speaking in reaction to the arrest of three men for allegedly assaulting Rakbar Khan on charges of cow slaughter in Alwar district. MLA Ahuja had demanded the release of three men stating that they were cow vigilantes (Gau Rakshaks).
