Discover the inspiring journey of Mohammad Manzar Rashid from Purnia, who left his job search behind to establish a thriving mustard oil business, now boasting an annual turnover exceeding Rs 60 lakh.
Many people feel dissatisfied with their careers, particularly when they can't find a suitable job despite their education. However, some individuals choose to take matters into their own hands and shape their own future. Mohammad Manzar Rashid, a resident of Madhopada in Purnia, is a prime example of this. Facing challenges in job hunting and financial struggles, he decided to start his own business. Today, his business generates an annual turnover of over Rs 60 lakh. Let's explore his inspiring success story.
Business Journey
Manzar Rashid completed his BSc in IT and, after finishing his studies, worked tirelessly to secure a government job but was unsuccessful. Even in private sector jobs, he struggled to earn a salary that could meet his needs. His dream was to become his own boss, rather than working for someone else. To turn this dream into reality, he took a Rs 10 lakh loan under the Youth Entrepreneur Scheme and invested it in starting a mustard oil business.
Quality That Brings Customers to the Factory
Manzar Rashid set up a mustard oil plant right at his home, where it now produces over 500 kg of pure mustard oil daily. He sources mustard seeds from local farmers, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned before being processed in machines. The oil is then branded and packaged with a focus on purity and quality, and sold in the market. His brand, "Lotus Kachi Ghani," has gained significant popularity for its high quality. In fact, customers now visit his factory directly to purchase the oil.
Supplying Oil to Purnia and Kosi Markets
By establishing his local mustard oil business, Manzar Rashid has not only transformed his own life but is also creating job opportunities for others. Currently, four people are employed at his plant, and this number is expected to grow as the business expands. Although his venture began slowly, today his plant produces over 500 kg of oil daily, supplying the markets of Purnia and Kosi Seemanchal. The oil is sold at Rs 180 per kg. Manzar Rashid's mustard oil business now generates an annual turnover of Rs 60 to 70 lakh, a testament to his hard work, dedication, and strategic business planning.
