Kulgam: A terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces early on Wednesday morning in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Security forces including Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) carried out a cordon and search operation in the area.

"As the security forces came close to the house where the terrorists were hiding, they fired triggering an encounter which is going on, at present," police sources said.
Officials are yet to identify the terrorist and his association with terror outfits.
As a precautionary measure, the authorities have suspended mobile Internet services in Kulgam district. On Tuesday two terrorists were killed in forest areas of Anantnag.
