Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeks Ranveer Singh, Rahul Gandhi  Deepika Padukone, Varun Dhawan, Mohanlal and Nagarjuna's support for Lok Sabha elections. Modi tweeted tagging each of them individually.

Ahead of Lok Sabha election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has requested Indian actors and other influential celebs to create voter awareness for Lok Sabha elections.

A few days ago, Election Commission  Sunil Arora announced Lok Sabha poll dates, held in seven phases, phase one on April 11, phase two on April 18, phase three on April 23, phase four on April 29, phase 5 on May 6, phase 6 on May 12 and phase 7 on May 19. The date of counting will be May 23.

These are the days when we can elect our favourite leader through a vote and exercise this power on the important day. However, many use the election as an excuse to enjoy the holiday.

On March 13, PM Modi took to his Twitter to request all the influential people to create awareness about the importance of voting. He started with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, TMC leader Mamata Banerjee, Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy and more.

"I appeal to @RahulGandhi, @MamataOfficial, @PawarSpeaks, @Mayawati, @yadavakhilesh, @yadavtejashwi and @mkstalin to encourage increased voter participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. A high turnout augurs well for our democratic fabric," Narendra Modi tweeted.

PM also approached media barons like Times Of India chairman Vineet Jain, editor-in-chief of India TV, Rajat Sharma, India Today's Rahul Kanwal, Zee TV's Sudhir Chaudhary,  AVP News' Rubika Liyaquat and more.

He appealed to entrepreneurs, sports personalities, journalists and media Mughals to motivate people to vote in large numbers

Modi also addressed southern superstars Mohanlal and Nagarjuna. PM Modi tweeted, "Dear @Mohanlal and @iamnagarjuna, Your performances have entertained millions over the years and you have also won many awards. I request you to create greater voter awareness and urge people to vote in large numbers. The award here is, a vibrant democracy."

PM Modi also appealed to a host of Bollywood stars and encourage their fans to vote in large numbers. Here are the Twitter posts of the Prime Minister:
