Minus Degre: Graduates from renowned Indian institutions like IIT and NIFT often secure lucrative jobs in top companies. But today, let’s read about two graduates who decided to turn waste into a multi-crore business. It may sound unusual, but two brothers, Vikas Kumar and Rahul Vashukhi, have done just that. Through relentless effort and innovation, they’ve built a thriving business and now earn crores every month.

Minus Degre: Addressing plastic pollution

Vikas Kumar, an IIT postgraduate, and his brother, Rahul Vashukhi, an NIFT graduate, both recognised the growing threat of plastic pollution and decided to take innovative action to address it. They conceived the idea of transforming plastic waste into furniture. Initially, they collected waste door-to-door, often facing mockery and scepticism, but their determination kept them going.

Minus Degre: No external funding

The brothers began their venture without any external funding. Recycling electronic and plastic waste proved to be no easy task. Undeterred, they took matters into their own hands and built their own machines to process the waste, eventually creating durable and stylish furniture.

Minus Degre’s success

Today, Vikas and Rahul’s brand, Minus Degre, is associated with major names like Tata, Adidas, and BMW. They design and supply furniture for these companies, earning around Rs 10 lakh each month. Their annual revenue has surged to Rs 1.20 crore. What started with a machine costing just Rs 10,000 has now evolved into a thriving multi-crore business.
