Leaving behind the hustle of city life and the pressures of the corporate world, Jeetendra Mann and his wife Sarla embarked on a journey to establish a successful organic moringa farm in Haryana. This farm not only provides them with a steady income but also inspires them to lead a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Leaving the corporate world

After spending over 20 years in major cities such as Chennai, Bengaluru, and Delhi, Jeetendra Mann noticed a sharp rise in lifestyle-related diseases. Conditions like thyroid issues and hypertension had become widespread, and Jeetendra himself was grappling with them. He recalls, "In my early 40s, I started experiencing worsening joint pain and high blood pressure, which forced me to reconsider my lifestyle." Ultimately, Jeetendra made the decision to leave city life behind and pursue organic farming. He and his wife Sarla returned to their village in Haryana, where they began cultivating moringa.

Success with organic moringa farming

Jeetendra and Sarla embarked on their journey of organic moringa farming by starting with just 2 acres of land. Over time, their farm expanded to 4 acres as they gained experience and confidence in their venture. They incorporated advanced technology to dry and process the moringa leaves, ensuring that the nutritional value was preserved throughout the process.

The demand for their high-quality moringa powder quickly surged in major cities like Delhi, Gurugram, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. This growing demand significantly boosted their income, and today, they earn around Rs 3.5 lakh per month from their flourishing organic farm.

Sustainable farming

Sarla explains that they approach each step of the process with the utmost care. After plucking the moringa leaves, they wash them twice and then place them in large fans and a greenhouse setup for drying, where the temperature is carefully controlled. They avoid using any chemical fertilizers or pesticides, which helps maintain the natural fertility of the soil. This commitment to sustainable farming practices has not only protected the environment but also significantly enhanced the quality of their moringa crop.
