Inhumane treatment of inmates in Sri Lanka prison surfaces in video

A video showing inhuman treatment of prisoners of Sri Lankan prison has emerged. Sources state that at least 20 prisoners are being subjected to torture in the prison. Â The video dates back to November 22, 2018 and was shot inside Angunukolapelessa prison complex. The prison guards are seen beating up inmates.
A media report cited Secretary of the committee to ensure rights of prisoners Sudesh Nandimal Silva, who stated that the attack was in retaliation to the protests held at the prison on October 21 for strip searching relatives that come to visit the prisoners.
