Paris: Occasionally, he would offer some cakes to his children, of course. Representative of the association French Victims 87 Carole Papon said that the person can neither read nor write or count and that he did not realise the enormity of the situation. He spent all his money on alcohol. 

After running out of money, "the family had nothing to eat. They only had Coca-Cola to drink".  

The arrested man was allegedly violent towards his wife and children, aged 4 and 3 respectively. He was jailed for three months in Limoges, Central France.

The man was produced before the Limoges Criminal Court that ruled that he had been failing to meet his obligations as a parent since 2016.

The eldest boy had seven sugar-rotten teeth and the second boy could not even speak. Both the children have been taken to a home for special care and were also introduced to meat and vegetables. 

"There was nothing in their flat. There was no fridge, the children slept on a mattress without covers and there were no toys," said Bruno Robinet, the deputy public prosecutor.
