A heart-warming post made by the official Instagram account of Vermont State University is making people online say 'Aww'. Meet Dr. Max, the beloved campus cat who has earned his honorary degree from the institute, as he has been an "affectionate member of the Castleton family for years."
The post had several pictures of Dr Max and his degree with a lengthy caption congratulating the little feline friend and his contribution to the university. It read, "Commencement is this weekend! To celebrate, we’re announcing a very special honorary degree recipient. Max the Cat has been an affectionate member of the Castleton family for years."
"He lives with his wonderful owners on Seminary Street and loves socializing with friends outside Leavenworth. While his adventures may have slowed, Max exemplifies the #CastletonWay and we are honored to have him as a member of VTSU’s."
The caption further said, "With a resounding purr of approval from the faculty, the Board of Trustees of the Vermont State Cat-leges has bestowed upon Max Dow the prestigious title of Doctor of Litter-ature, complete with all the catnip perks, scratching post privileges, and litter box responsibilities that come with it."
The comments are filled with students and users online congratulating the cat for his degree and expressing their joy over the cuteness of the post. One user wrote, "Smart Cat! Go Castleton!"
Another user wrote, "My cat, Dr. Harris Von Bonkers, PhD, wrote his dissertation on ancient pawttery," adding to the joke.
