If you lose your ticket while travelling, you don’t need to panic. Let’s find out what you can do in these situations.
If you fail to present your ticket to the TTE, you may face a penalty. In certain cases, an FIR may also be filed against you.
If you lose your ticket, you can approach the train’s TTE and request for a duplicate ticket.
Some minimal charges will be applicable for an issuing a duplicate ticket.
For example, the TTE will charge a minimum of Rs 50 for a duplicate ticket for sleeper or second class. For other categories, the charge will be around Rs 100.
If your ticket gets torn while travelling in a train, you can request for a duplicate ticket by paying 25 percent of your journey fare.
If you were in waiting list, you won’t need to get a duplicate ticket. Simply contact the TTE regarding this issue.
