Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is the current Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Department of Rajasthan.
Notably, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is an Olympic medallist in shooting and a retired colonel in the Indian Army.
Rajyavardhan Singh was born on 29 January 1970 in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. He earned a BA degree in Instructor-Weapons from the National Defence Academy, Pune.
Rajyavardhan Singh fought in the Kargil War. He served as a Major, Lieutenant-Colonel, and Colonel in the Indian Army.
In the year 2002, Rajyavardhan Singh clinched a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games held in Manchester, and with that he set a new record of 192 targets out of 200.
Rajyavardhan Singh made the nation proud by winning India’s first individual silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
Rajyavardhan Singh has also won medals at the Asian Games, World Shotgun Championship, ISSF World Shooting Championship, and Asian Clay Target Championship.
Rajyavardhan Singh took retirement from the Indian Army in 2013 and joined the BJP.
On 30 December 2023, Rajyavardhan Singh took oath as a cabinet minister in the Government of Rajasthan.
Rajyavardhan Singh has been honoured with the prestigious awards like Padma Shri and Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award.
