The Government decided to retail rice through the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to address the shortcomings.
Presently, Bharat Rice can be purchased through NAFED, NCCF, and Kendriya Bhandar.
Bharat Rice can also be purchased through three Central Cooperative Agencies, mobile vans, and your nearby outlets.
In near future, Bharat Rice will be available for sale on e-commerce platforms and various retail stores. The FCI will allocate 5 lakh tons of rice to NAFED and NCCF.
The Central Government launched Bharat Atta for sale at Rs 27.50 per kg in November 2023. Pulses are available at a rate of Rs 60 per kg.
