Trees and plants play a crucial role in maintaining the ecological balance. There are trees in this world that live for hundreds of years.
The world’s largest tree, known as the Hyperion, is located in Redwood National Park in California, USA. It stands at an impressive height of approximately 116.85 metres.
The Hyperion was discovered in the year 2006. It also has a Guinness World Record under its name.
The Hyperion is taller than the Statue of Liberty. The height of this tree is so impressive that it can be spotted from many kilometres away.
Some reports suggest that the Hyperion can absorb over 20 kilograms of dust and 20 tons of carbon dioxide annually. It also produces approximately 700 kg of oxygen each year.
You would find it impossible to believe but the Hyperion is estimated to be around 700-800 years old.
The Hyperion has the capacity to filter the polluted air of an area spanning one lakh square metres annually.
