Know how much gold jewelry you can keep at home

Several guidelines are issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) for Indians about keeping gold jewelry at home. 

As per CBDT, there is no legal limit on storing gold at home in India. The only condition is that it should be earned lawfully with the disclosed source of incomes. 

There are some restrictions over how much gold jewelry can be stored at home by individuals without verification. 

In India, married women can store 500 grams of gold at home. 

Unmarried women can keep 250 grams of gold at home.
